Many new eateries specializing in desserts have been opened up recently to combat the fierce heat of Hanoi, and Mango Story is a place like so. Inspired by a series of attractive-not-only-in-looks-but-also-in-taste desserts originating from Thailand, Mango Story's menu is dominated by mangoes. Despite its lovely plating, I am not impressed by the taste and flavour of its signature dish which is Coconut sticky rice, mango pudding, mango ice cream and fresh mango (69,000 dong), and am quite surprised at how there are so many good reviews online. The only two components I am satisfied with are fresh mango, and Coconut sticky rice which is glutinous enough; however, the pudding is not light as it should be, and the mango ice cream smells like perfume, not mango. In my opinion, Mango Story has a long way to go in improving its dishes to inspire great loyalty from customers. Hopefully, next time, I would be lucky enough to experience a better performance from Mango Story than this.
