I guess roasted pork in Vạn Thành Shop has set a new standard of how sexy this dish can be. I could not resist my temptation to share with you guys this gem in the Old Quarter despite the face that the information I have about this shop is quite limited. I first ate the roasted pork here (they also sell other types of meat, such as charsiu, roasted duck, ...) in my aunt's house, after my uncle bought it after work. The meat is nicely put on a small banana leaf, then wrapped inside a piece of newspaper. As I open it the wrappings, my belly could not help rumbling at the attractive aroma of the pork. What differs the roasted pork in this shop from many others is its success in creating a crunchy skin, rich yet not too greasy type of the middle layer of fat, and ended by aromatic and soft layer of meat. Although the waiting time for the roasted meat here is very long, many still do not mind queuing every day for about 20 minutes until they get a grab of it.
